Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence

And this book doesn't really deliver. I really tried to give it the benefit of the doubt-- I'm all over portrayals of Anne that veer from the well-traveled "tragic heroine" path, and this book's title made a lot of exciting promises.
However...
This rendition of Anne Boleyn's life reads as though it was inexpertly translated into English-- the wording is often awkward, and words are often used incorrectly. This wouldn't generally be a big deal for me, but, given that many of the author's arguments are firmly planted in the idea of primary and secondary source material having been mistranslated to begin with, the author's own gaffes make her appear unreliable.
Unreliable narrators are great literary devices, in fiction. Unreliable is not a good look for someone purporting to "cut through the myth" surrounding a widely known and much-researched historical figure.
Furthermore, I was appalled to see The Urban Dictionary (a wikilike repository for slang that generally consists of misspelled sexual terms written by teenagers) as a source for the "real" definition of terms like "Moor". The Urban Dictionary doesn't require any kind of scholarly accuracy or diligence on the part of its contributors; sources are virtually never given for their entries. If the author is, indeed, giving us the "real" definitions here, why couldn't she find a less mind-bogglingly irrelevant source to support her arguments? Did one exist? Even *Wikipedia* has citations.
Lastly, most of this book succumbs to the rookie writing seen in below-average middle school essays. Conclusions start out by saying things like, "In this chapter, I have proven that..." (despite the fact that whether the author has succeeded in proving anything is seriously debatable). It's a relatively minor stylistic sin, but one that compounds the book's others. The research is lacking, the interpretations are questionable, the writing is rough, and there isn't enough polish to make it an enjoyable (if not particularly informative) guilty pleasure.
In short, you can get the full experience of this book by taking a remedial history student's paper on the Tudor era and running it through Babelfish seven or eight times. It'll cost you much less.

Someone's Doctoral Dissertation?

While the information in this book is very interesting, it reads like someone's draft of a dissertation. There are many spelling errors, incorrect grammar, word usage is incorrect in many instances, punctuation is wild, and the overall effect is that these problems make the book a little frustrating to wade through. I don't mean to bash anyone's research, but someone, or maybe several someones, should have proofread carefully before publishing.

A total waste of money!

Ms Zupanec has gone to a great deal of trouble in her research for this book and it is a great pity that this research was not put to better use. It is poorly written in execrable English and many of the conclusions drawn by the author are completely unjustified by the facts as she states them. If the original language of the book was not English, then it is the worst translation it has been my misfortune to come across. In addition there is a great deal of repetition of both her facts and conclusions. Altogether it is a very disappointing book and I will not be making the mistake of reading anything else she has written.
